Epping Archers Diary for 2012
January February March April May June July August September October November December
From about Monday 4th June, to about Monday 9th July (inclusive), instead of meeting at the Abercrombie
Centre, the seniors normally shoot on the airfield to take advantage of the light nights. Airfield Evening
Shooting regulations are in place. (The Abercrombie Centre may still be used – especially if it is tipping it down)
NB around the start and end of this period, it may not be possible to shoot too late if it is overcast.
Juniors
During the school holidays, a junior archery sessions will be held on Tuesday afternoons 4-30 pm to 6.00 pm on the
airfield (weather permitting). For those in the Monday group at the Abercrombie Centre, this is in addition to their
normal Monday session and is an opportunity to do some outdoor shooting. For those in the Tuesday group, this
replaces their normal indoor session at the Queens Hall. As archery is an outdoor sport, we shall still hold the session
even if it is raining a bit. However, if it is a full-blown monsoon, we shall just give it a miss.
Junior Shoots planned during this period are
1st week Tuesday 24th July, normal distance/targets
2nd week Tuesday 31st July, Outdoors Portsmouth,
3rd week Tuesday 7th August, A shoot created by Ian to test your skills.
4th week Tuesday 14th August, Warwick,
5th week Tuesday 21st August Summer Clout. NB. This event will extend beyond the end fence.
6th week Tuesday 28th August, Airfield 3D Field Shoot
Other information
Both Seniors and Juniors take part in the Andy Harris Postal League over the winter months. This runs from October
to March when one or two scores are sent in each month.

Additional Notes
Although the Olympic event at Waltham Abbey White Water Centre only lasts over the 4 days from 29th July, the Olympic Delivery Authority will be on site at the airfield in connection with the Park & Ride from 23rd July to 10th August. There is likely to be 200 or more buses operating a shuttle from the airfield to the event (via M11/M25) so the roads will be pretty busy.
